Track marshalling systems: EM Motorsport

Formula 1 in 2020 has seen a lot of controversy on track around penalties given out to drivers for infringements for not adhering to flags.
The first significant penalty came in the second round of the season which saw McLaren driver Lando Norris receive a three-place grid drop for the Styrian Grand Prix for overtaking under yellow flags during Free Practice 1.
Norris had passed the AlphaTauri of Pierre Gasly, along with the Racing Point of Sergio Perez, under yellow flags which triggered when Nicholas Latifi parked his Williams at Turn 5 with a gearbox issue.

Perhaps the most damaging to a result was during the eighth round of the championship in Monza after Mercedes driver and race leader at the time, Lewis Hamilton, dove into the pit lane when it was closed under safety car conditions caused by Kevin Magnussen’s stricken Haas which stopped by the pitlane entry.
This situation forced marshals to close the pitlane, the symbol for which was displayed on the marshalling flag panels on track.
