Nova Named British Hillclimb Championship Tyre Supplier
Nova Motorsport has been named as the official tyre supplier for the British Hillclimb Championship, marking the company’s third contract announcement after it acquired all Avon assets.
Nova has signed a five-year agreement with Motorsport UK for tyre supply and title sponsorship rights to the BHC. It follows on from several decades of Avon involvement in the national hillclimbing scene.
The newly-formed company, which is owned by SPC Rubber, this year took over Avon’s brand licence, range and residual tyre stock after Avon was sold by its former proprietor, Goodyear subsidiary Cooper Tire.
Nova is working with Birmingham-based BMTR which will assist with the supply and service of the tyres that will be used in the BHC. The 30-round season kicks off at Prescott on 20-21 April. ‘Hillclimbing holds a very special place in the hearts of everyone at Nova Motorsport,’ said Nova Motorsport category product manager Jack Price, who was previously Avon?s design manager.
‘We are honoured to uphold the legacy of Avon Motorsport and continue its support for the Motorsport UK British Hillclimb Championship with the announcement of Nova Motorsport as the title sponsor of the series for five years.
