GCK Motorsport Launches Electric Dakar Rally Car

World RX race team GCK Motorsport (formerly known as GC Kompetition) has launched a cross-country rally race campaign, and with it, a new rally raid machine called the GCK e-Blast 1 which will compete in the upcoming Dakar Rally
The GCK e-Blast 1 is a fully electric version of the T-1 buggy that won the 2018 Dakar Rally operated then by Peugeot Sport. GCK Motorsport produced the bespoke electric powertrain and battery pack in-house specifically for the task of cross-country rallying on the Dakar Rally event.
The GCK e-Blast 1 produces 250 kW (equivalent to 340 hp) with a maximum torque output of 1000 Nm which will take the two-wheel-drive rally raid machine up to a top speed of 180km/h on the stages.

Energy is stored in a 150 kWh battery pack which will take the car from start to finish on most of the stages. GCK Motorsport will be unveiling their GCK e-Blast 1 at the 2021 Dakar Rally, and it will be taking on the terrain around the city of Neom, Saudi Arabia, in January 2021 as well as other off-road races throughout 2021 to optimise the vehicle and technology further.
