Hyundai’s Ioniq hybrid is revealed

Hyundai has finally revealed its new ?three-choice powertrain? Ioniq after trailling the car for some weeks.
The Ioniq family car will be launched at the Geneva Motor Show on 1st March in all three of its variants ? hybrid, plug-in hybrid and fully electric.
The hybrid model features in the new set of images and is expected to be the first version to go on sale before the end of 2016.
According to Hyundai the Ioniq ?breaks the mould? for hybrid vehicles because it marries class-leading fuel efficiency with a fun, responsive drive and an attractive design, the car?s creators perhaps controversially claiming that no previous hybrid has yet managed to achieve this combination.

Combined power output is 139bhp with 195lbft of torque, and this is put through a newly designed six-speed dual-clutch transmission. Hyundai has created a new platform for the Ioniq and the car?s designers describe its on-road manners as similar to those of a traditional compact car. A coupe-like silhouette is prominent in the visual appearance, and this combined with aerodynamic aids including active elements cuts the car?s drag profile to an impressive 0.24Cd.
When it goes on sale the Ioniq will be supplied with a suite of technology, including active and passive safety features such as Autonomous Emergency Brake, Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Departure Warning and Blind Spot Detection with Rear Cros...
