Track Attack: Nissan Adds Track Edition to Its GT-R Lineup

The new 2017 Nissan GT-R Track Edition is here to plug the $65,000 gap that exists between the standard $111,685 GT-R Premium and the absolutely savage $176,685 GT-R NISMO. With a starting price of $129,585, the new Track Edition combines the GT-R Premium?s 565-hp twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V-6 engine with a host of chassis upgrades cribbed from the 600-hp GT-R NISMO.
Notably, the Track Edition wears the NISMO?s wider front fenders and six-spoke, 20-inch wheels from Japanese wheel manufacturer Rays. As on the NISMO, the Track Edition?s front wheels measure half an inch wider than the units fitted to the GT-R Premium, while all four wheels are fitted with larger, more rigid bolts to ensure the black six-spoke alloys stay connected to their respective hubs. Meanwhile, adhesive bonding?in addition to spot welding?in the Track Edition’s body shell, as well as a 17.3 mm rear anti-roll bar (1.4 mm thicker than the unit fitted to the GT-R Premium), promise additional rigidity and handling prowess compared with its lesser stablemate. Additionally, a carbon-fiber rear wing helps differentiate the Track Edition from the rest of the GT-R pack.
