Fiat Chrysler confirmed it will arrive in 2017, but if you can’t wait that long, Bring A Trailer has the perfect thing for you: a delightfully clean, straight, and dry 1959 Jeep FC150, the adorable cab-over-engine, forward-control pickup based on the original CJ5.
Fully restored and once displayed at the Petersen Automotive Museum, this 1959 model has a short, 81-inch wheelbase and the same 134-cubic-inch Hurricane F-head engine as the CJ5, which eventually begat the Wrangler. The Brooks Stevens?designed body is charming in white and red, immediately recognizable as a Jeep but wholly unlike the Wranglers, Cherokees, and Grand Cherokees that spring to mind when we think of the brand.
