Specialty Fasteners, makers of AeroCatch have revolutionised the 80 year old Dzus Fastener and have created the 21st Century alternative: AeroLoc.
There are few forms of motor racing that haven?t utilized the Dzus fastener in its 80 year history, where it has become almost a household name in the motorsport industry.
However, engineers at Specialty Fasteners, working with their production partners Camloc, have produced a game-changer in the field of racecar panel fastenings: AeroLoc.
The key to its advancement is the use of a cross-head stud, which all but eliminates the risk of damaging expensive body panels and, by using a cam receptacle, consistent fastening performance is guaranteed. AeroLoc is also available with a bail handle for hand operation, where use of a screwdriver is difficult or regulations demand. The new AeroLoc self ejecting fastener is interchangeable with the Dzus EHF5 series and is more secure when fastened, thus negating the occasional need for tank tape to keep it in position. So retro-fitting is not only possible but is designed in.
Motorsport and Distribution Manager for Specialty Fasteners, Graham Leo, has no doubt that his company have developed a winner: ?AeroLoc is gaining traction in the marketplace very quickly now and takeup by some major teams convinces us that AeroLoc will be a game-changer in the area of panel fastening, in much the same way as our AeroCatch has been.?
