The Obsession Deepens: Nissan Debuts Seven Star Wars?Themed Show Cars
Many hard-core Star Wars fans enjoy dressing up as their favorite characters in a pastime known as “cosplay.” They have a kindred spirit in Nissan, which is pretty obsessed with the sci-fi franchise. The company already has placed a Rogue in a Star Wars?inspired movie scene for a TV ad, launched a Star Wars?themed Rogue special edition, and put an X-Wing fighter costume on the Rogue earlier this year. For the Los Angeles auto show, more Nissan models got to join the fun as the brand trotted out seven vehicles decked out in full Star Wars regalia.
This time, the concepts were dreamed up by the team from Lucasfilm, an outgrowth of the studio’s marketing partnership with the Japanese automaker. They bear the names of the Star Wars characters or vehicles that inspired them. The otherworldly Nissans include this 2018 Nissan Rogue, labeled Poe Dameron’s X-Wing with BB-8:
a 2018 Rogue Sport named the A-Wing:
a 2018 Altima named the Special Forces TIE Fighter:
and a 2018 Titan named the AT-M6:
The group was rounded out by no fewer than three 2018 Maxima sedans. This one is named after Kylo Ren:
This one is inspired by and named for Kylo Ren’s TIE Silencer:
and, finally, this one is Captain Phasma.
We might have tapped the GT-R or maybe the Armada for this project, but that’s just us.
