Chevrolet is expanding its special Midnight Edition package to both the Tahoe and the Suburban for the 2017 model year. The blacked-out package, which includes black-painted wheels, roof rack rails, grille inserts, and Chevrolet bow-tie badges, is available on the LT and the off-road-ready Z71 Tahoe and Suburban trims. Unsurprisingly, the Midnight Edition models can only be paired with one exterior color?you guessed it?black.
While the Midnight Edition package plays to style-conscious Tahoe and Suburban customers, Chevrolet also added a handful of practical enhancements to its 2017 full-size SUVs that are more likely appeal to the wider consumer marketplace. Standard active grille shutters assist in improving aerodynamics. Although four-wheel-drive Tahoe and Suburban models see no noticeable fuel-efficiency gains as a result of this tech, two-wheel-drive models witness their EPA combined fuel-economy figures rise by 1 mpg to 19 mpg overall. Meanwhile, updates to Chevrolet’s MyLink infotainment system include a handful of new apps plus the addition of a Teen Driver feature that provides parents with pertinent information about their teen’s driving habits. The feature debuted in the Malibu sedan last year.
