What comes to mind when you think of Mercedes-Benz tuner Brabus" Twin-turbocharged, 690-hp six-wheeled G-wagen SUVs" Modded AMG C63s with 650 horsepower" That sounds about right, only Brabus also lends its unique touch to that other Daimler brand: Smart. Make that Daimler’s smaller brand. Brabus has been tuning and upfitting factory Smart Fortwos for a long time, and now that the new Fortwo Cabriolet is out, Brabus has turned its attention to it, creating the Brabus Edition. It does not have 600 horsepower, but it does have 89 horsepower and just 200 will be built, making it fairly rare, if slow for a Brabus.

Unlike practically every other Smart Fortwo, the Brabus Edition wears a monochromatic paint scheme, the usually contrasting-color grille and “Trideon Safety Cell” slathered in the same pale matte-blue finish as the main body panels. The top is an icy Titanium Grey color, and the light-colored seats pop against the mostly black-colored interior’s bright blue trim and contrast stitching. A purposeful set of gray-finished wheels that resemble scaled-down AMG units round out the visual upgrades?which also rounds out the Fortwo’s upgrades. There is no extra horsepower squeezed from the Smart’s turbocharged, 0.9-liter three-cylinder engine, and it works through the very same six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission used in the regular Fortwo Cabriolet.
