With the McLaren 720S now officially unveiled, the British supercar concern can begin whetting the public?s appetite for what is presumably the next new model on the docket, the BP23. To that end, we have our first teaser image for the ?hyper GT? (McLaren?s term) that will arrive in 2019 to finally replace the P1 in the brand?s range-topping Ultimate Series.
The company says the BP23 (the designation is a code name) will be the most powerful roadgoing McLaren ever, which means it would have to eclipse the P1?s 903 horsepower. Note the qualifier ?roadgoing,? however, which suggests it probably won?t exceed the output of the track-only P1 GTR, which mustered 986 horsepower. We do know that, like the P1, the BP23 will use a hybrid powerplant, and it will feature a three-seat layout as in the F1. The company also claims it will be the most aerodynamic roadgoing model it has ever produced. Sounds good, no" Too bad you can?t have one.
