Royal Red Rider: Aston Martin Vanquish S Red Arrows Edition Honors Royal Air Force
Aston Martin?s bespoke Q division is back at it again, this time paying homage to the Royal Air Force’s aerobatic team, the Red Arrows. Aptly named the Q by Aston Martin Vanquish S Red Arrows Edition, the special-edition sports coupe will see a production run of just 10 units.
The new car was commissioned by Aston Martin Cambridge, one of the brand’s U.K. dealerships. Every Red Arrows Edition wears a coat of Eclat Red paint, a color that mirrors that used on the real Red Arrows. Other Red Arrows Edition?specific cues include a Union Jack flag at each end of the car’s front splitter, a carbon-fiber roof inlaid with the rooftop “charge” pattern found on the Red Arrows’ glass canopy, and a host of white-and-blue details around the grille, rear fascia, side sills, fender vents, and doors.
Further adding to the special nature of the Red Arrows Edition is an interior marked by black and Pinewood Green details, a steering wheel based on that of the Aston Martin One-77, an aviation-inspired center rotary toggle switch within the steering wheel, and front seats wrapped in the same fabric used by ejection-seat manufacturer Martin-Baker. We don’t know whether or not MI6’s Q added actual ejector seats to the car.
