In the world today almost every single vehicle has a flawed component, a part that if subjected to the same rigorous safety standards applied in the automotive and aerospace industries would be rejected and every vehicle would have to be recalled and those flawed components removed and replaced. The problem is that component is the human in the loop, humanity itself is the flawed component.

At the Geneva motor show in 2015 an Italian design company revealed a concept car which looked, like many do, like a science fiction fantasy but the reality is that there was nothing fictional about it at all. It was an all electric autonomous car called the ED Torq. Later in 2015 a championship for Autonomous cars was announced called Roborace. It all makes perfect sense.
