Ride Time: Lincoln Expands Chauffeur Service to Second Market
Before there was digital, there was analog, and before we enter a world of self-driving cars, we’re still going to need ordinary humans to do the driving. So what’s a digital car owner to do in an analog age" Lincoln thinks it has the answer with its Lincoln Chauffeur service.
Lincoln Chauffeur is exactly what it sounds like. It’s a service that allows Lincoln owners to call up a chauffeur to drive them in their Lincoln to and/or from their destination of choice. The chauffeur (who Lincoln notes is “carefully screened and highly trained”) can also aid Lincoln drivers in fueling and cleaning their car, as well as conducting a variety of errands.
The service is provided in conjunction with RedCap Technologies, an automotive technology company based in Florida. As interesting of a concept as Lincoln Chauffeur is, though, it isn’t available everywhere. In fact, as of today, Lincoln Chauffeur is only being piloted in two markets: Miami and now San Diego, with the Florida trial having started at the beginning of the year. There’s no word on when or if Lincoln Chauffeur will enter other markets.
