In August, Amazon.com launched a new online automotive center to help prospective buyers compare cars, but the focus of the new section had been solely on vehicle research. Unlike everything else on Amazon, cars have not been offered for sale . . . until now. Following SEAT‘s offer of a limited-edition Mii by Mango through Amazon France earlier this month, Mini is falling in line and doing the same in India, selling 20 copies of this special Mini Cooper S Carbon Edition through the Amazon India website.
Basically, this is a twist on a John Cooper Works (JCW) hardtop coupe with a few extra exclusive “carbon” interior and exterior pieces. The JCW additions include a tuning kit, a throatier exhaust system with Bluetooth tunability, a body kit, branded doorsills, 17-inch black wheels, carbon-fiber tailpipes, and matte black roof, hood, and side stripes with red accents. Look inside, and you’ll see plenty of nice-to-touch surfaces like the black and red microsuede-trimmed sport seats and the leather-wrapped sport steering wheel. The door stripe also bears the word “Carbon,” which makes it at least 2.6 percent cooler.
Packaged and marketed as “the fastest, loudest, and most powerful Mini in India,” it gets a claimed 210 horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque from its 2.0-liter turbo four, which Mini says can hustle the car from zero to 62 mph in 6.5 seconds.
