After festooning the Jeep Renegade with 30-plus original-Jeep graphics, many of them hidden in the oddest of places, it’s about time the small SUV got its first complete Mopar body kit.
While we won’t get this black-and-yellow Renegade with the MoparONE pack, we are getting the black and tan Renegade Desert Hawk that also premieres in Paris. Somehow, an American Jeep with U.S. Army?style star decals that’s made in Italy and showcased in France will not make it to America. Blame globalization, or something.
The Renegade MoparONE is based on the European market’s Longitude trim (as opposed to our Latitude) with Solar Yellow paint, a black-striped hood, and matte-black mirror caps. It also packs a one-inch lift kit with taller 70-series all-season Michelins (up from the stock 65s) to better match the more aggressive Trailhawk, even though the Longitude is just one step up from the base model. A rooftop cargo carrier also comes with the package, which mates a 140-hp turbo-diesel four-cylinder and a six-speed manual to Jeep’s entry-level Active Drive four-wheel drive. Mopar’s U.S. accessory catalog for the Renegade offers a few decals and roof racks but nothing like this MoparONE that combines suspension and visual upgrades into one package. There isn’t even a lift kit.
