The Ford GT, weighing between 66 and 88 pounds, is the work of a professional Lego model builder named Pascal, who said it consists of some 40,000 Lego bricks of different sizes, shapes, and colors. It will be displayed alongside a supersize model of a classic Ford GT40 when the real race car makes its triumphant return to Le Mans, half a century after the first of the original GT?s Le Mans wins in 1966. Once a computer model was designed, it took three weeks to build, starting with the wheels, which Pascal said he constructed freehand. He then constructed the body from the base up to the top. ?The form of the car is very strange but very exciting,? said Pascal. ?It?s a very aggressive look.?
