When Ford unveiled the GT supercar, the Shelby GT350R, and the F-150 Raptor at the 2015 Detroit auto show, it showed all three models in an identical shade of blue. The color is called Liquid Blue, and it’s only available to customers on the GT. But somehow, the world’s only Fiesta ST painted this color seemingly was sold to a random Ford fan who was searching for a deal on that model.
On the Oppositelock online forum, user Quite98 tells the story of buying the very Fiesta ST featured at the auto show. Quite98 claims to have been searching for a deal on a Fiesta ST a few months ago when a 2015 example with only 57 miles turned up for sale in Nashville. The listing said the car was painted Performance Blue, a factory Fiesta color. But Quite98 realized something was going on with this car: The color was clearly Liquid Blue, and the seats were trimmed with a non-factory white leather surround.
Quite98 contacted the Nashville dealer with an offer but didn’t move quickly enough: The car had already gone back to a dealer auction house. In a stroke of luck, the Fiesta ended up at a dealer 10 miles from Quite98’s home, and a deal was struck as soon as possible.
