Groundabout: Mitsubishi to Display GT-PHEV Concept at Paris Auto Show
Because it?s nearly time for the Paris auto show, Mitsubishi has released renderings of the GT-PHEV concept it will display there. Those expecting some sort of hybrid redux of the company?s 3000GT will find themselves sorely disappointed, however, as the GT in GT-PHEV stands not for Grand Touring, but rather Ground Tourer. Because, you know, it travels along the ground. Read on for the press release, with our annotations in italics:
“The Mitsubishi GT-PHEV Concept is a high-end next-generation SUV that easily takes many road surface conditions in its stride. Featuring MMC?s latest design language together with MMC?s advanced and proprietary electric and all-wheel control technologies, the Mitsubishi GT-PHEV Concept empowers drivers to pilot their car with confidence under a wide range of driving conditions. It stirs the driver?s curiosity and sense of adventure as they seek to go further, as they seek to take a step beyond anything they have experienced before.” (Or they could just listen to Madness?s ?One Step Beyond,? a skankin? good time that?s more concrete than conceptual.
