If Genesis wants to be taken seriously as a competitor to established luxury brands such as Bentley and Rolls-Royce, it?s off to the right start by creating a less-than-tasteful-looking special edition (and by putting out a press release that uses the word ?bespoke? while comparing the car to a tailor-made suit). In this case, it?s the flagship G90 sedan that?s getting the exclusive treatment?nothing says new money like a new-brand luxury car decked out in flashy look-at-me decor. The G90 Special Edition is done up in a questionable two-tone color scheme that makes us think of of those forgotten Maybach models from the mid-2000s, the 57 and the 62.
The car was initially shown in three different two-tone setups: a dark brown/matte gray combo, a seemingly Fifty Shades of Grey?inspired light gray/silver gray, and the pictured dark-blue-over-white getup, which is meant to conjure up images of a yacht on the ocean. The interior also gets a few model-exclusive touches, including special stitching for the seats and a set of floor mats said to be ?intricately crafted.?
