TU Munich EB018 Tech Analysis
Over the last decade the TU Munich Formula Student team has been increasingly viewed as one of the more advanced competitors to take part in Formula Student UK. This was shown to the paddock when it first entered in 2004; finishing an impressive 11th overall. In 2013, TU Munich entered its NB013 combustion car with the teams first full aerodynamic package, but only achieved a 27th overall finish at FSUK. For the last 3 years competing with both a combustion and an electric powered car, TU Munich have only finished in the top 5 once; so the pressure was on for this year?s team.

TU Munich returned to Silverstone in 2018, after a year?s absence, to run their electric powered car, the EB018. This is a first for the German based team, with previously the combustion powered car being present at every other UK entry. At FSUK, TU Munich are becoming more consistent at finishing in the top quarter of entries, but are yet to break into the top 3
At this year’s FSUK competition, TU Munich enjoyed early success achieving 1st place in the first 3 of the 4 dynamic events. With only the endurance event to go, the German team looked comfortable at the top of the points table. However halfway through their Endurance run, the car suffered a technical issue and so the car was unable to run at maximum pace.
