With the rise of streaming video and audio, and the uptick in mobile device addiction use, people are constantly counting on a signal to receive and deliver texts, email, photos, videos, and social media, not to mention eloquently tell auto writers how they got it all wrong in their reviews. For those with capped data plans, Wi-Fi hotspots have become oases, or extensions of their services at home, which is why numerous automakers now offer Wi-Fi?capable vehicles. General Motors has been at the forefront of this push for a few years and is reaffirming its commitment to connectivity by announcing a new $20 monthly service plan that gives OnStar-equipped vehicles unlimited data on AT&T?s 4G LTE network. This announcement comes not even a year after Chevrolet cut the pricing on all of its in-car hotspot data plans in half. That set monthly rates were dropped to $10 for one gigabyte (GB) of data, $20 for 4 GB, or $40 for 10 GB. Chevy also offered one-time purchases: $5 for one day or 250 MB, and $150 for 20 GB or 12 months.
