Endangered Species: 2017 Volkswagen Tiguan Adds Low-Price Limited Trim
Meet the 2017 Volkswagen Tiguan Limited, the latest?and likely last?edition of the first-generation Tiguan compact crossover/SUV. Priced from $22,860, the Tiguan Limited starts exactly $3000 less than the next cheapest 2017 Tiguan, the S.
The Tiguan Limited’s price drop comes courtesy of a lighter standard-features list that lacks cruise control, a proximity key with push-button start, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, a cargo cover, and roof rails. The model does include a 5.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a backup camera, and an electric parking brake.
Buyers can add those missing items back in by opting for the $1295 Premium package, which also includes a larger, 6.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system that’s compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. They also can upgrade the Limited’s standard 16-inch wheels and tires with 17-inch units for $495.
Like its 2017 Tiguan siblings, the Tiguan Limited is powered by a 200-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. It’s paired to a six-speed automatic transmission that channels power to the front wheels. All-wheel-drive is a $1975 option.
