Devil in the details: Wisdom of Divila part 1
Ricardo Divila has been involved in motorsport engineering since the time that everyone used chariots. Over the years he has accumulated a great and now legendary book of racing tips dating right back to the dawn of the Automobile.
Divila’s racing tips have been used successfully by teams and drivers in many classes of racing includinf Formula 1, Le Mans, Super GT, Rallying and perhaps even land speed record attempts.
While copies of this giant tome are few and far between (some say that no complete copy even exists) we have had exclusive access to some of the disjointed and unbound sections of a recent edition and we can bring you some of the extracts of this rare book. This is the wisdom of Divila.
Racing tip n.510=”Setting up a car perfectly is easy, keeping it that way considerably more difficult.”
Racing tip n.313=”Driver hydration is primordial for maximum performance. But only certain kinds.” Paul Hawkins 1965
Racing tip n.284=”Sometimes you know when your car is not able to win. Or even finish the race…”
Racing tip n.451=”It is of no use to berate your car if you do not get pole. Try harder next time.”
Racing tip n.1216: Religion can be important; after praying at the shrine of Our Lady of Perpetual Grip, Sister Agatha found her lap times improved considerably.
Racing tip n.134=”Conventionally one says as long as they are round and black, they will do. There are exceptions.”...
