Crystal Ballin’: BMW Offers Polished 750Li Rose Quartz Edition Just for Japan
Pink?er, rather rose?is having a massive “in” moment right now. Since Apple released a rose-gold iPhone last year, the classy-looking hue has been popping up on all sorts of gizmos and gadgets, including watches, tablets, computers, and Beats headphones. It has even made its way into hair styling (although, to be fair, the color is nothing new in the fashion industry). In December 2015, Pantone officially recognized the trend by naming rose gold’s cousin, rose quartz, a Color of the Year for 2016. Now BMW is looking to capitalize on the obsession with a Japan-only release of the 7-Series Rose Quartz Edition.
This special version of BMW’s flagship 750Li luxury sedan is presented in a deep pink and offers features crafted out by the company’s customization department, BMW Individual. The interior color, just as pretentiously named?Smoke White?is applied to the leather seats and door panels, faux-suede headliner, and BMW Individual doorsills. Furthermore, it has black-colored ash wood trim with red accents, although a photo of the interior was not offered. The comfortable experience is rounded out with the rear Executive Lounge package (including reclining heated and cooled massage seats), the Ambient Air package, an interior cooler, a nice view through the Sky Lounge Panorama glass roof, and remote parking.
The curators of the project didn’t fuss with anything under the hood, leaving the twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V-8 to make it...
