Following the recent reveal of the second-generation Bentley Continental GT, the British brand is pulling the wraps off its all-new Continental GT3 race car. 
Like its roadgoing counterpart, the new Continental GT3 wears redesigned bodywork that incorporates the brand’s latest styling cues. The race car, however, has all the subtlety of Andrew Dice Clay in his heyday. Flared fenders, big wings, and massive intakes provide the Continental GT3 with a over-the-top race-ready look that reflects Bentley’s checkered-flag dreams.
Fortunately, the brand’s past success with the previous-generation GT3 means podium finishes will likely be a reality when the new one begins racing in the European Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup next year. The prior model chalked up 45 wins over the course of its 528-race career.
The new car, however, benefits from an aluminum-intensive structure that keeps weight below 3000 pounds, while also employing a revised twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 with a new dry-sump oil system and redesigned intake and exhaust systems. When unrestricted by racing rules, Bentley said, the GT3’s engine can produce more than 550 horsepower. That grunt is channeled to the rear wheels by way of a Ricardo transaxle. The driver shifts through the transmission’s six gears via a pair of steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters.
