Bentley Bentayga SUV Recalled for Loose Dashboards and Seats
While some would say spending a quarter-million dollars on a truck indicates the owner has a few screws loose, it appears that some of those buyers? 2017 Bentley Bentaygas may be similarly afflicted.
According to filings with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, fasteners within the seats and instrument panel may not be tightened to proper torque specifications. Over time, this could lead to rattles. In the worst scenario, a crash, the loosened vehicle parts could cause injuries. Out of 378 potentially affected Bentayga SUVs in the U.S., Bentley believes the improper tightening may have happened on a total of 88 vehicles.

It’s not that owners have complained. Bentley said it found “missing or implausible data” from a review of the factory’s quality control records in September, so that it wasn’t possible to confirm whether certain fasteners were tightened or not. Inspections on several cars in October revealed below-spec torque levels. No injuries or related warranty claims have been reported. Customers are being notified this month.
