Bentley’s Mulsanne Mulliner Limousine Is Long, Strong, Down to Get the Chauffeurin’ On
It?s too close to the announcement of the Continental GT Monster by Mulliner for the Mulsanne Grand Limousine by Mulliner to be intentional atonement for that brand-tarnishing sin, but this elongated behemoth definitely goes a stretch toward convincing us that things are mostly right at Bentley?s customizing division. Unveiled at the Geneva auto show, the Grand Limousine takes an already-imposing Mulsanne and adds 39 inches to its length and a shade over three inches to its height.
The stretch allows for face-to-face rear seats. Bentley claims that the interior was ?inspired by aviation,? and indeed, there?s definitely a well-appointed Beech King Air vibe to the cabin. Mulliner went to the trouble of re-engineering the HVAC system for the rear passengers?anything to keep them traveling in optimum comfort. Of course, it doesn?t hurt that Bentley also went to town with the fanciest of leathers and the most richly figured of veneers, the opulence of which might distract the occupants from any minor annoyances the day dares to bring.
And if that?s not enough, there?s always a champagne cooler and an iPad docking station, allowing for on-the-go Netflix and chilled bubbly. Assuming they?d rather not have the driver looking in on such moments, there?s an electrochromic glass divider between the front and rear that allows the passengers to darken it according to their whim.
