When Iron Man arrived in 2008, the iconic super hero trusted his Audi R8 to move him around town. When Captain America: Civil War opens Friday (May 6th), expect to see Audi again. The film follows the Avengers as their ranks break down in a complex political climate.
Iron Man and Audi have always been close. At the time of the first film, the R8 was the pinnacle of Audi design and performance. The automaker felt it best matched Stark’s unique personality and skill set. Stark transitioned to the R8 Spyder and the electric R8 e-tron as the film series progressed.
Again, at the time, those models represented the top of Audi’s performance spectrum. In Captain America: Civil War, the new Audi R8 V10 will star in a chase scene with Captain America. The powerful coupe is able to make the scenes come alive. “It?s perfect to put our brand into these settings and be able to demonstrate how Audi is a component of the action and excitement that the Avengers represent,” said Loren Angelo, Director of Marketing for Audi of America.

Angelo believes Audi has a special bond with Hollywood.
“Whether it?s the SQ7 or A4 or R8, the brand is part of the story,” he said. “Audiences see the four rings, and consumers have associated them with blockbuster movie action.”
