2018 Mustang GT V-8 Makes 700 HP with Ford/Roush Supercharger Kit
Thrilled with your 2018 Ford Mustang GT but find the 460 horsepower provided by its 5.0-liter V-8 a little lacking" Dig your 2018 Ford F-150 but worried that modifying the 5.0 under the hood for more oomph might void your warranty" Fear not, Blue Oval faithful, for Ford Performance and Roush Performance have developed a new supercharger that significantly boosts output without putting your warranty in danger.
Designed to work specifically with the dual port/direct injection system of the 2018 5.0-liter V-8 with either an automatic or manual transmission, the supercharger?s 12 psi of boost pushes output in the Mustang GT to the 700-hp mark, while torque increases from a stock 420 lb-ft to a healthy 610. Fitting the supercharger to the 5.0 in the 2018 F-150 lifts output from 395 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque to 640 ponies and 600 lb-ft. That?s some serious grunt for any single modification, let alone one that comes with its own three-year/36,000-mile warranty.
More than just a bolt-in-and-pray hot-rodding trick, the kit includes a complete air-to-liquid intercooler system (pump, heat exchanger, and reservoir), its own lower intake manifold, 87-milimeter throttle body, a new air inlet, a six-rib FEAD (Front End Accessory Drive) system, installation hardware, and a cloud-based calibration flash delivery system. The supercharger itself is a Twin Vortices Series (TVS) 2650 with new four-lobe rotors that its makers say is 15 percent larger than the previous TVS...
