2017 Nissan Frontier In-Depth Review: An Obsolete Choice in the Mid-Size Category
The Frontier has all of the qualities you?d expect in a pickup truck: it can haul, tow, and go off-road. Yet it doesn?t excel in any of those areas. Its sales numbers are surprisingly strong, despite the fact that the aging mid-sizer hasn?t been significantly updated in more than a decade. The Nissan is motivated by either a 152-hp inline-four or a 261-hp V-6; a five-speed manual transmission is standard (six-speed with the V-6), and a five-speed automatic is optional. The Frontier has reasonable towing capacities and a configurable cargo box. Its spartan interior is seriously outdated, but durable materials and a spacious layout cater to the trades.
