Mazda’s North American Operations recently revealed a few details on the 2017 Mazda6. The automaker was adamant about how the engineers “didn’t stop there.” The entire design process centered around providing more premium features and enhancing both performance and efficiency.
A considerable level of sound insulation was added to the 2017 Mazda6. They even made sure to keep a manual option for those who want more control over their driving experience.
Mazda holds the Jinba Ittai ideology highly, meaning “horse and rider.” And if those two are connected, then everything is right in the world.
GVC
Perhaps most unique about the 2017 Mazda6 is the presence of G-Vectoring Control or GVC. Per the Jinba Ittai mindset, GVC unites the engine, transmission, chassis, and other components for a crisp handling style. This is Mazda’s first application of such technology in North America but for Mazda enthusiasts, it is sure to excite. GVC varies engine torque in accordance with steering inputs for better control of lateral and longitudinal acceleration forces. GVC optimizes the vertical load on each wheel so the driver’s intentions and vehicle direction are more uniform. The technology is useful in any situation.
In essence, GVC is the technical representation of Jinba Ittai.
