2017 Honda Civic Sedan and Coupe Add Turbo/Manual Option
The 2017 model year is upon us, and one of its most anticipated gifts is the addition of a manual-transmission option to turbocharged Honda Civic models. For its debut year, 2016, the 10th-generation Civic sedan and coupe offered a six-speed manual only on the base LX trim, paired with a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter four-cylinder. The more powerful Civics with the 174-hp 1.5-liter turbocharged four could only be had with a CVT automatic. Until now.
We’ve known about this Civic lineup shakeup for some time?and Honda has now released pricing for the stick-shift, turbocharged Civic coupe and sedan models, as well as the full 2017 two- and four-door lineups. (The automaker previously detailed the new-for-2017 Civic hatchback, which introduced the six-speed-manual/turbo-engine powertrain option.)
As before, the coupe range includes an LX (with either the manual or the automatic), as well as the automatic-only LX-P, EX-L, and Touring trims; the sedan also starts with an LX (also with manual and automatic choices) and moves up to the automatic-only EX, EX-L, and Touring. Prices across the board rise just $100. As for the new turbocharged, manual-transmission Civics, they’re offered as a new EX-T trim level, which slots between the LX and the EX-L on the sedan, and between the LX-P and the EX-L on the coupe. Prices for the stick-shift EX-T coupe open at $22,435, with the sedan version carrying a slight discount at $22,335; an automatic is an $800 option.
