Ford Motor Company recently announced performance numbers for their 2017 F-150, equipped with the 3.5-liter EcoBoost and 10-speed automatic transmission. The new, second-generation 3.5-liter EcoBoost will provide 50 lb-ft more peak torque for a total of 470 lb-ft.
This tops the General Motors 6.2 V8, currently rated at 460 lb-ft of torque.
“The 2017 Ford F-150 now delivers the best torque in the segment,” said Raj Nair, Ford Executive Vice President, Product Development, and Chief Technical Officer.

The 2017 Ford F-150 is paired exclusively with the first volume-production 10-speed automatic transmission from any automaker. The new powertrain is expected to improve acceleration, efficiency, and overall performance, such as the aforementioned higher torque numbers.
“This class-leading torque arrives with a transformative 10-speed automatic that improves nearly every aspect of F-150 performance,” Nair said.
