2017 Cadillac CT6 Plug-In Hybrid: Range Meets Performance

Cadillac has unveiled a new, more green variant of their CT6 flagship sedan. The forthcoming CT6 Plug-In Hybrid is expected to have a range of over 400 miles, appealing to those with an environmental mindset but a desire for performance.
The 2017 Cadillac CT6 Plug-In Hybrid launches in North America in the spring of 2017.
Dynamics & Design
Cadillac developed the CT6 Plug-In Hybrid with fluid driving dynamics at the heart. The vehicle’s design is meant to maximize fuel economy while providing a sharp, responsive feel on daily commutes. Power between the battery and engine is balanced and blended, especailly duing acceleration or higher speeds.
This new version of the CT6 expands on Cadillac’s existing framework for the car. “The CT6 is a technological showcase throughout, and by far the lightest car in its class, making it an ideal platform for electrification,” said Cadillac President Johan de Nysschen.

Range Figures
The all-electric range for the CT6 Plug-In Hybrid is an estimated 30 miles, which should be enough for the average commute. If a longer distance is required, the CT6’s engine and battery work in tandem to provide over 400 miles of driving range. Through the advanced propulsion technology housed in the CT6 Plug-In Hybrid, Cadillac is hoping to eliminate range anxiety for customers.
