2017 BMW K1600B unveiled, is a stunning piece of work
With its 6-cylinder, 160bhp engine, pared down styling and all-black colour scheme, the 2017 BMW K1600B is quite the business. We think it's super cool!
BMW have unveiled their all-new K1600B Bagger, which is based on the K1600GT touring bike and is powered by the same 160-horsepower 1600cc inline-six engine. In fact, the K1600B is the production-spec version of the Concept 101 which BMW had shown at the Concorso d?Eleganza Villa d?Este last year. ?In design terms, the new all-black K1600B takes the form of a bagger, an exclusive custom bike type that is particularly popular in the USA. The characteristic properties of the bagger are its drop-shaped silhouette, whose highest point is the front fairing, the stretched drop-like silhouette in a 'streamlining' style and the deep-set side cases with integrated American-style rear lights. New fully chrome-plated silencers run parallel to the road and are an organic fit for the visual appeal of the bagger," says a press release from BMW.
While the K1600B is largely based on the same mechanical package as the K1600GT, the former uses a new sub-frame at the back for its completely redesigned, backwards-sloping rear end. The slim sidecases are all new, while the rear mudguard has also been designed to fold upwards, which makes it easier to remove the rear wheel.
