2017 Aprilia Tuono V4 1100RR and 1100 Factory unveiled at the Intermot
With 175 horsepower from its V4 engine and a host of updated electronics, the 2017 Tuono V4 1100 clearly wants to stay on top in the streetfighter segment
We expect a fair number of new bikes to be unveiled at the Intermot, which starts today in Cologne, Germany. And to begin with, there?s the new, 2017-spec Aprilia Tuono V4 1100RR and the more expensive Tuono V4 1100 Factory, which borrows many bits from the Aprilia RSV4 RF superbike. In addition to the new colours and graphics, the new Tuono bikes get upgraded electronics, with revised settings and software for the bikes? APRC (Aprilia Performance Ride Control) system. The new system is lighter and more efficient, with 8-step traction (adjustable on the fly), 3-level wheelie control, launch control, an electronic quick-shift system and even cruise control. There?s also Bosch 9.1 MP cornering ABS, which works in conjunction with the bikes? RLM (Rear Liftup Mitigation) system to deal with heavy braking at high speeds. Other interesting bits on the 2017 Tuono V4 1100RR and 1100 Factory include a new TFT colour display for the instrumentation, and an optional V4-MP Aprilia multimedia platform that lets you connect your smartphone to the bike for full access to riding data.
The Tuono?s 65-degree 1077cc V4 engine is now fully Euro 4-compliant, with a new exhaust system, new ECU and 500rpm higher rev limit. Power output in an impressive 175bhp at 11,000rpm, while torque output is pegged at 121Nm at 9,000rpm. Three riding...
