Subaru maps out XV?s future
Subaru will unveil a concept at the Geneva Motor Show on 1st March, previewing the next generation of the brand?s XV crossover.
No details of the new model have so far been given apart from the teaser photo reproduced here. It will be unveiled just days after Subaru announced a mid-life refresh for the current XV.
The changes, available on models available in showrooms from March, focus on subtle tweaks to the exterior styling, improvements to the rear interior quality and more refinement.
Most notable in the revised interior is a new infotainment and navigation system centring on a 7-inch touchscreen which allows smartphone-style swipe and pinch control of applications. Phones can be connected and their apps used through the Subaru StarLink software. Standard as part of the system is a rear-view camera, offering a 160-degree field of view behind the car when reversing.
New metallic and piano black trim and contrast stitching also features in the cabin, while the driver?s instrument binnacle has been redesigned.
Exterior changes include updated ?hawk-eye? headlights and a redesigned front grille and bumper, while the rear end gains a discreet new boot spoiler and LED combination lamps. Black and silver diamond-cut aluminium alloy wheels are now also offered along with two new exterior colour options ? Hyper Blue and Dark Blue Metallic.
Subaru made a number of chassis upgrades to the XV last year including suspension modifications and a quicker more direct steering rack.
