Built with equal measures of extreme lightness and strength, the P1 was based upon a carbon monocoque chassis weighing just 90 kilograms and cloaked in carbon-fiber body panels. The high-strength aluminum wheels, measuring 19 inches in diameter up front and 20 inches rear, follow the same principles, weighing just 7.94 kilograms and 9.27 kilograms, respectively. Measuring just 3.2mm in thickness, the P1 windshield is reinforced with a plastic interlayer, cutting 3.5 kilograms over that of the prior 12C. Inside, carpeting was deleted for further weight reduction. Non-lacquered interior carbon fiber shaved a further 1.5 kilograms.
