Hyundai offers inside view of Ioniq
Hyundai has released more images of its forthcoming Ioniq ? the first car to offer three different electric powertrain options.
Widely pitched as rival to the Toyota?s Prius, the Ioniq will launch with a choice of all-electric, plug-in hybrid or traditional hybrid powertrains. It will be unveiled in Korea in January and then appear at the Geneva and New York motor shows in March.
The two new images show more elements of the car?s exterior styling and a first detailed view of the interior.
According to Hyundai the exterior is dominated by ?simple yet carefully wrought contours? both to emphasise a coupe-like silhouette and minimize wind resistance by smoothing airflow over the car. The front end carries Hyundai?s signature hexagonal grille while blue detailing will help identify the Ioniq as an eco car.
Inside will follow a similar uncluttered design theme which Hyundai says will make efficient use of interior space and eco-friendly materials ?to convey a futuristic yet warm cabin ambience that will meet the needs of those wishing to reduce the impact their motoring has on the environment while enjoying outstanding fuel efficiency, performance and handling?.
