Fiat brings Talento to van market
Fiat has announced prices for its new Talento mid-sized van, as UK dealers open order books.
Named after a coin and replacing the Scudo, the Talento is the product of a joint venture, sharing its makeup with the Vauxhall Vivaro, Renault Trafic and Nissan NV300.
However it will offer its own distinctive presence, mainly through the exterior styling and particularly the front end. It will slot into the Fiat Professional LCV line-up between the Doblo and Ducato ranges.
Prices will start from £19,795 plus VAT and will range across nine body styles, including standard and high-roof vans, crew vans and people carriers, two wheelbase choices and a long wheelbase platform cab.
Short-wheelbase (SWB) models offer a 5.2 cubic metre load volume, increasing to six cubic metres in long-wheelbase (LWB) models, allowing all versions to accommodate three Euro pallets. Payloads of up to 1,249kg can be carried. The Talento will also feature a liftable bulkhead panel behind the front passenger seat allowing the carrying of items 3.75m long in SWB versions and 4.15m in LWB variants.
Four engine options will be on offer, all turbo-diesels. Entry-level will be a 94bhp 1.6-litre with torque of 192lbft, combined cycle fuel consumption of 43.5mpg and CO2 emissions of 170g/km. It will also be offered as an EcoJet version with start&stop returning 46.3mpg and 160g/km.
