Think New, See First: Volkswagen Releases Images of “Revolutionary” I.D. Electric Concept Car
Volkswagen has revealed images of the I.D. electric-car concept, making its debut at the 2016 Paris auto show, along with a few details on the model it’s calling “revolutionary.”
Tantalizingly?and with whiffs of a Silicon Valley tech reveal?Volkswagen boldly states that the EV concept represents its recent Think New philosophy and that the car has ?the potential to redefine history.? VW even goes so far as to declare that this new electric car could be as groundbreaking as the original Beetle.

What we know so far is that the softly styled EV concept will use Volkswagen?s new Modular Electric Drive (MEB) electric-vehicle architecture. The I.D. appears to have full-LED exterior lighting, and it features suicide doors and a chubby shape similar to that of the Chevrolet Bolt EV, a car the promised production version would compete against. It is also said to have the ability to ?receive parcels using a new delivery service, if its owner isn?t at home.? The I.D. features a 125-kW electric motor and a claimed range of 250 to 370 miles on a single charge?numbers that likely are derived from the optimistic European testing cycle for EVs and somewhat higher than you could expect for a potential U.S. model.
Think New, indeed, but for now, Think Waiting, and feast yo...
