Roborace: Summoning the demon
In the world today almost every single vehicle has a flawed component, a part that if subjected to the same rigorous safety standards applied in the automotive and aerospace industries would be rejected and every vehicle would have to be recalled and those flawed components removed and replaced. The problem is that component is the human in the loop, humanity itself is the flawed component.
The marine, aerospace and automotive industries are beginning to move toward replacing that flawed component with autonomous vehicles. The question has been posed, how will motorsport deal with this, and how far can it be taken"

It was an all electric autonomous car called the ED Torq. Later in 2015 a championship for Autonomous cars was announced called Roborace. It all makes perfect sense. Right now the so called ‘Tech Industry’ is investing billions of dollars into autonomous vehicle technology, companies like Apple, Google, Samsung and others are joining more traditional names like Bosch, Continental and Honda in developing cars. This is big business and motor racing will play a key role in the development and evolution of the technologies used in drive...
