MotorWeek | EyeSpy: Mid-Engine Corvette
After years of speculation, we might finally be one step closer to a mid-engine Corvette reality. Our most recent spy photos shows us grainy but gratifying views of a mule testing at GM?s Milford, Michigan Proving Grounds.
And despite its apparent similarity to the current Corvette, our spy photographer notes that this C8 mule looked, drove, and sounded distinctly different. Caught during some rare daylight testing, the camo?d Corvette appears to have a section cut out behind the passenger compartment that houses the engine, with unique C-pillars around it. No word on what type of engine powers it, or what the output will be, but it?s presumed to be a new-lightweight V8. For more solid news we?ll have to wait until Detroit?s 2018 North American International Auto Show.
